PEPA recognizes individuals as Certified Installers based on a combination of work experience and successful completion of a course of training and exam based on the knowledge and skills needed to properly install vinyl siding as well as soffit and accessories. Installers with a minimum of one-year of installation experience can become a VSI Certified Installer. Those with less than one year of experience can still attend a training course as an Installer Trainee candidate; however, for the Installer Trainee candidate, certification cannot be achieved until the required experience is completed.

For skilled siding installers, becoming a VSI Certified Installer is easy – simply follow VSI’s Career Pathway to Success Program, take an online class, or a class taught by a VSI Certified Trainer and pass an exam that tests your knowledge about vinyl siding installation. Classes are offered across North America. If a classroom is not convenient, we offer online certification classes in multiple languages. Go at your own pace, all at once or one chapter at a time – whenever and wherever you want.

Certification is valid for five years. Certified Installers must recertify and provide verification that they have remained active installing vinyl siding during the certification period. Upon contacting the Administrator and payment of the recertification fee, the certified installer/trainer will renew online here. Passing this exam is required for each additional five-year certification.

There are in-person courses offered across North America and virtual courses offered monthly. The easiest way to find a course is here.

There is no charge to become a VSI Installer Trainee! To become a Certified Installer, the Certified Trainer sets the fees for Certified Installer classes, which include a certification administrative fee. These fees are between $95-$175 depending on the format of the course. To become a Certified Installer Trainer, the costs are $375 for a 3-day, in-person event.

VSI Certified Installers (Trainees and Trainers) are listed on the Official Registry of Certified Installers on our website.

Certified Installers receive a photo identification badge and a certificate with expiration dates. They also have access to the pro/vsi-resources/gram logo and other useful resources.
