Grant Opportunity: Northeast Ohio Recycling Coalition

Many thanks to those members who participated in our Northeast Ohio Recycling Coalition virtual meeting earlier this month. During the video call, the Ohio EPA presented information on their “Recycling and Litter Prevention Grant Program.”

By far, the Coalition’s biggest challenge to date is containers and logistics.

The grant program, like the one we heard about in the meeting, can help with these challenges. It can provide an opportunity for Coalition members to establish and implement recycling  prevention programs, including helping to offset expanding the amount of recycling equipment or even initial purchase of equipment, including possibly recycling containers.

Please commit to looking at this program and how we can more fully engage moving into 2022. Without full commitments and making this program a priority, it will be challenging to continue to grow our success.

Once you review the information, please reach out to the team at the Ohio EPA (Marie.Barnett@epa.ohio.gov) and Beth Biggins-Ramer (ebiggins-ramer@cuyahogacounty.us) with the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District. They can help with preparing and processing grant applications. Please aim to begin this process before the end of the calendar year.

As always, please don’t hesitate to contact Matt Dobson at VSI (mdobson@polymericexteriors.fahlgrendigital.com) with any comments or questions.
