Intertek is an industry-leading Total Quality Assurance provider, with more than 44,000 employees in over 100 countries ensuring the quality and safety of companies' products, processes and systems. They've been involved with the VSI Product Certification Program for two decades, and currently serve as the program's ISO/IEC 17065 accredited independent certification body.
The certification body visits the plant and documents the manufacturing process, selecting test samples to establish traceability.
Once official certification is issued, manufacturers are granted the ability to use a certification mark on their product. (Controls are put in place to regulate use of the program mark.)
Regular unannounced plant inspections to manufacturing plants are done to confirm conformance to an approved quality control system, and to ensure products continue to meet standard(s) and code requirements.
