Effective January 1, the Vinyl Siding Institute has reduced the previously required industry experience from two years to one year for installers wanting to train for and seek VSI Certified Installer status. The requirement can also be met now with two consecutive semesters of VSI-approved installer certification curriculum via an accredited educational institution.

In late January, VSI’s Workforce Development Team will meet up with many other industry partners in New Orleans for the International Roofing Expo (IRE).
The IRE is the largest roofing event in North America featuring the latest innovations in the roofing and exteriors industry. The team will host two show floor education sessions and “Coach” Rob Balfanz, VSI’s Director, Workforce Development, will participate on the panel, “Blueprint for the Future: Building a Successful and Resilient Company.”
In December, “Coach” Rob Balfanz stopped by to check in on the team at the Home Builders Institute (HBI) Skilled Trades Training Center in Clarksville, TN. VSI appreciates their service to our country and their commitment to the Workforce Development Programs at both the HBI and the VSI!
