They've been involved with the VSI Product Certification Program for two decades, and currently serve as the program's ISO/IEC 17065 accredited independent certification body.

8 step certification process
The process begins with a plan
A manufacturer reaches out to the certification body and together they outline the product scope and testing/certification needs.
Samples are selected and plants are audited
The certification body visits the plant and documents the manufacturing process, selecting test samples to establish traceability.
Quality control documents are created
Quality control documents record how the product is manufactured, ensuring its consistency with what was tested during the qualification period.
The product is tested in a lab
The product is tested to the appropriate test standards by an ISO 17025 accredited lab.
Engineers perform a technical review
The certification body’s engineering staff verify the test data to ensure it meets certification standards, including testing lab accreditation, proper procedure and traceability.
It’s verified by an independent body
An independent review is conducted of all the elements—the process, engineer, and standards—to make sure the certification process was executed properly.
Certification is issued and mark is granted
Once official certification is issued, manufacturers are granted the ability to use a certification mark on their product. (Controls are put in place to regulate use of the program mark.)
Follow-up inspections are conducted
Regular unannounced plant inspections to manufacturing plants are done to confirm conformance to an approved quality control system, and to ensure products continue to meet standard(s) and code requirements.
