As a service to the industry, the Vinyl Siding Institute (VSI)—now under the PEPA umbrella—sponsors a third-party certification program for multiple polymeric exterior claddings:
- Vinyl siding: Certified to ASTM D3679
- Polypropylene siding: Certified to ASTM D7254
- Insulated siding: Certified to ASTM D7793 (provides a minimum R-value of R-2.0)
Insulated siding is widely accepted in energy efficiency programs and is defined within the International Energy Conservation Code. Siding Installation Guidelines
