New PEPA Vinyl Fencing Members Thrilled to Be “Putting Down Stakes”

With new member category registration opening at the beginning of the year, the Polymeric Exterior Products Association (PEPA) came out of the gates flying with three new polymeric roofing material manufacturers. In their latest round of recruitment wins, PEPA “went yard” with the addition of their first three vinyl fencing members: Nebraska Plastics, Oldcastle APG and Cornerstone Building Brands’ Fencing Division.

“This is an exciting growth opportunity for our association and our industry,” said PEPA President & CEO Kate Offringa. “Our quality programs and services are well-suited to help our new vinyl fencing members address unique market challenges and meet key objectives.”

The vinyl fencing manufacturers aim to reclaim and grow market share with the leverage of a trade association.

The new vinyl fencing members are working with PEPA to:

  • Build a product certification program focused on quality, durability and value
  • Communicate the superior quality and value of North American-made vinyl fence products
  • Establish an advocacy protocol to engage across federal, state and local governments

New Members with Deep Industry Roots and a Strong Investment in the Future

While the vinyl fencing members may be new to the association, their deep roots in the polymeric exterior industry make them all a powerful asset to the PEPA mission.

Vinyl fencing was invented in the 1970s by Nebraska Plastics founder Rex German (whose family still owns and operates the company in Cozad, Nebraska). Oldcastle APG was also founded as a family business in Atlanta in 1978, and its footprint extends across North America and part of the globe. They have a proud history of outdoor product innovations and have acquired multiple vinyl fencing manufacturers in recent years. And even though Cornerstone has been a longtime member of the association and an industry driver, their fencing division and its people are what Kate calls “new members of our growing family.”

“The addition of these three new members will not only attract more vinyl fencing companies to join PEPA, but manufacturers from other polymeric exterior categories will take a closer look at what PEPA can do for them,” she said. “It’s been an exciting year so far – we’re already raising the roof and swinging for the fences!”
